Instructions for Use 

Scaly Pet Bearded Dragon Harness & Leash Set

Give your bearded dragon the freedom to explore safely and comfortably with this easy step-by-step guide.

🧷 Step 1: Preparing the Harness

​

a. Calm Your Bearded Dragon

  • Place your dragon on a flat, secure surface.

  • Gently stroke it to keep it calm and relaxed before attempting to put on the harness.

​

        b. Identify the Parts of the Harness

  • Open the harness and locate the front straps. 

  • The straps that are joined by a circular ring are the front ones; the circular ring should be positioned on the dragon’s chest.

​

       c. Slide the Harness On

  • Carefully insert your dragon’s front legs through the holes and fasten the harness on the dragon’s back. ​

​

       d. Adjust for Comfort

  • Use the sliding buckles to adjust the fit.

  • The harness should be snug enough to stay in place, but not too tight.

  • Select either the decorative wings or backpack and attach them using the Velcro on top of the harness.

 Step 2: Attaching the Retractable Leash

​

      a. Clip the Leash Securely

  • Attach the clip of the leash to the back of the harness.

  • Gently tug to ensure it’s properly secured.

​

⚠️ Important Safety Warning:

  • The retractable leash contains a strong internal spring.

  • Never let go of the leash while it’s retracting freely — this may cause it to snap back quickly and startle or injure your bearded dragon.

  • Always hold the leash securely when retracting or adjusting the length.

Step 3: Safe Exploration Time

       a. Choose a Safe Environment

  • Use the harness in quiet, open, and safe spaces.

  • Avoid areas with loud noises, open water, or potential predators like cats, dogs, or birds.

​

       b. Allow Your Pet to Walk Freely

  • Walk slowly and let your bearded dragon move at its own pace.

  • Use light leash guidance only when necessary — never pull or tug forcefully.

​

       c. Retracting the Leash

  • Hold the handle securely, press the button, and release the buckle gently to retract the leash in a controlled way.

 Step 4: After Use & Maintenance

​

      a. Removing the Harness

  • Unclip the leash and unfasten the harness gently.

  • Reward your pet with a small treat to build a positive routine.

 

      b. Cleaning the Harness

  • The harness is washable.

  • Hand-wash it in cold water with mild soap.

  • Let it air dry completely before storing or reusing. Do not machine wash or dry.

 

      c. Storing the Leash

  • Store in a cool, dry place.

  • Keep away from direct sunlight or heat.

  • Do not store the leash with the cord fully extended.

  • Practice indoors before going outside to help your dragon get used to the harness.

  • Pay attention to body language — if your dragon seems stressed, take a break and try again later.

  • Never leave your dragon unattended while using the harness or leash.
